BPS to Hold Community Budget Meetings

VIERA, FLORIDA ? Brevard Public Schools (BPS) will hold four public forums related to the proposed operating budget reductions. The purpose of the meetings is to provide the community with opportunities for input into the budget process and to answer questions about the proposed cuts.

Budget meeting dates and locations:
  • May 2, 2011 from 6:00-7:00 PM at Christa McAuliffe Elementary (155 Del Mundo Street, N.W., Palm Bay, FL 32907)
  • May 9, 2011 from 6:00 ? 7:00 PM at Jackson Middle (1515 Knox McRae Drive, Titusville, FL 32780)
  • May 11, 2011 from 6:00-7:00 pm at DeLaura Middle (300 Jackson Avenue, Satellite Beach, FL 32937)
  • May 12, 2011 from 6:00-7:00 PM at Quest Elementary (8751 Trafford Drive, Melbourne, FL 32940)

    • On April 19, 2011 at a School Board Budget Workshop, Superintendent Dr. Brian Binggeli announced the proposed cuts. Video of the workshop as well as the budget reduction documents are available on the district?s website, www.BrevardSchools.org. For those individuals who are unable to attend one of the scheduled meetings, cost saving suggestions may also be submitted online.
